As a HVLN member, you will be provided with two (2) half day technology training workshops with a minimum of 10 participants per session. The purpose of these workshops is to support the schools effort to integrate technology into the teaching and learning.
Schools will need to provide a computer lab for the training and ensure the appropriate software is loaded for the training. HVLN will provide a trainer and training materials. Workshops are open to all school employees including certificated and classified staff.

Introduction to Interactive Whiteboards
Hands-on workshop introducing the basic components and uses of interactive whiteboards. Session will include hands on activities, lesson samples and time for standards-based lesson planning.
Introduction to VoiceThread
Hands-on workshop learning how to create, share and collaborate on VoiceThreads. Teachers will also learn how to manage VoiceThread groups and explore how VoiceThreads can engage students in learning with a 21st century tool.
Introduction to Online Course Facilitation
Learn what makes a successful and effective online course facilitator and practice using the content management tools to communicate and engage in an online course. A discussion of what makes a successful online teacher and course will be discussed.
Introduction to Excel
Microsoft Excel allows you to create and edit spreadsheets. This workshop is designed to provide the user with basic techniques and skills in Excel. Topics include worksheet navigation, creating and editing data (entering labels, autofill, saving, editing a cell, moving and copying data), formatting data (autoformat; formatting numbers, dates and fonts; applying borders and background color, merging cells, format painter), managing worksheets (freezing panes, hiding rows and columns), and analyzing data (simple formulas, filtering.)
Introduction to Word
Microsoft Word is a powerful word processing application that empowers the user with the ability to produce professional documents. This introductory workshop provides instruction on fundamental features such as the Word window, menu system, toolbars and writing tools, and creating and formatting documents.
Introduction to PowerPoint
Microsoft PowerPoint is a popular presentation program. Get acquainted with PowerPoint in this introductory level class and learn the basics on creating text slides, using design templates, and producing a slide show.
